Corgo Viaduct Monitoring
Given the specificity and complexity of the Corgo viaduct, this structure was gifted with a continuous monitoring system that follows the evolution of its structural behaviour in “real time” during the exploitation phase.
This monitoring system was studied and installed at different crucial points and has, as main goal, to monitor the movement of the structure and allow to extend the useful life of this important road element, favouring and ensuring its operation in safety, from the structural point of view.
The installed monitoring is formed by several kinds of equipment, it allows us the permanent observation of the behavioural state and allows us to identify variances or alerts face to the foreseen behaviour on project phase, thus sustaining, any decision and programming, with due time, of possible needs for intervention.
Besides to the installed monitoring, routine checks will be held, or of interventional nature, to verify the integrity of the several elements which form the structure.
